  • Chamber Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Filipino Restaurant, A Taste of the Philippines

    The Jefferson Park Chamber of Commerce was honored to welcome A Taste of the Philippines to the neighborhood! We hope for their continued success in their career and are grateful for their contributions to the community. We anticipate many more enjoyable meals in the future!

  • Taco Bell Proposed for Jeff Park

    Taco Bell proposed for Northwest Hwy. site in Jefferson Park, where Popeye’s, Burger King, phone store formerly located.

  • New Speakeasy Pub and Restaurant, Vito’s Vault, Opens its Doors!

    Vito’s Vault, featuring a 1920s themed dinner-theater revue, 5901 W. Lawrence Ave. opened its doors on April 24th and welcomed patrons in for a full bar and restaurant menu. Vito's is currently serving as a restaurant and bar only, but a dinner theatre show is expected to start on the weekends very soon.

  • Paid Time Off Regulations are Changing in Chicago

    Changes are coming to Chicago regarding paid time off. After December 31, 2023, all Employers must allow their Covered Employees to accrue and use Paid Sick Leave. As of July 1, 2024, all Employers must also allow their Covered Employees to also accrue Paid Leave.

  • Multi-chamber Women's Business and Networking Luncheon was a success!

    The Jefferson Park Chamber of Commerce collaborated with the Northwest side chambers including Edgebrook Sauganash Chamber of Commerce, Portage Park Chamber of Commerce, and Belmont-Central Chamber of Commerce for a successful Women's Business and Networking Luncheon at Tata's Kitchen and Social. The keynote speaker was Meghan Dwyer formally of WGN News and the panel consisted of Valerie Rogers, Corporate Psychologist, Kathy Vega-Hardy, Owner- A Taste of the Philippines, and Alderwoman Ruth Cruz of the 30th ward. The event was an incredible success! Thank you to all who attended. We look forward to planning the next one!

    We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you! Our team has joined forces with RiseKit, an innovative platform dedicated to helping employers connect with talented individuals from within our community. RiseKit achieves this by partnering with local community organizations that provide support throughout the hiring and retention process.

    As a part of our collaboration with RiseKit, we're launching our very own job board. This platform empowers our members to post job openings, review resumes, and hire entry-level candidates from the Jefferson Park and Chicagoland areas, all at no cost.

  • Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship Program

    The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has administered a grant program, which established a network of community-based, nonprofit organizations throughout Illinois to provide services free of charge to recruit, pre-screen and provide pre-apprenticeship skills training. At the completion of the program, a diverse group of qualified candidates will gain new skills and be work-ready for careers in the construction industry and building trades.
